About
Three
generations,
one yard.
Started in 1974 with one truck on Riopelle Street. Still on Riopelle Street, still family-run, now 34 people deep.
Our story
We stayed
when it was
unfashionable.
Gus Varga framed his first porch in Poletown in 1974 and never left the east side. When the work dried up in the eighties, the company survived on repairs and church halls. When it came back, we were the crew that still had the tools and the licence.
Today his daughter runs the office and his grandson runs the field. Thirty-four people on payroll — carpenters, tile setters, two full-time superintendents, and an estimator who has priced 900 Detroit kitchens.
We turn down roughly a third of the work we are offered. Not out of arrogance: we only take what our own crews can build inside the schedule we promised you.
How we operate
Three rules
we do not
bend.
They cost us jobs. They are also why we are still here after fifty-two years.
No brokered work
If a trade is not on our payroll, its company name is printed in your contract before you sign. You always know who is in your house.
No verbal change orders
Every scope change is written, priced, and signed before the tools come out. Nobody gets a surprise invoice at the end.
No abandoned sites
We do not open a second job until yours is dried in. Crews rotate off your site only when the schedule says so.
The people
Who shows
up at your
door.
You will meet all four of these people before you sign anything.
